What we collect
We only collect what we need to run our scholarships:
- When you apply for a scholarship: your personal details (names, email, phone numbers, date and place of birth, gender, marital status, city and address, nationality, national ID or passport number, and work), your studies (high-school track and average, schools, the universities you applied to, and other financial aid), your family (your parents' names, nationalities, dates of birth, work, income and pension, your brothers and sisters, your housing and your family's income), references, and your personal statement.
- The documents you upload with your application: a personal photo, ID card, passport, high-school certificate, and documents about your family's situation such as social-security papers, death certificates and housing papers.
- If you receive a scholarship: your university admission, each semester's fees, your grades and transcripts, and the payments we make for you.
- When you write to us through the contact page: your name, email, phone number and message. These are sent to us by email and are not stored on the website.
- When you sign in with Google: only your name, your email address and your Google account's identifier. We do not see your Google password, and we cannot read your emails, contacts, files or anything else in your Google account.
Cookies
The website uses only the cookies it needs to work: to keep you signed in, to remember the language you chose, and to let you return to an application you have started. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use analytics services.
How we use your information
- To review applications and decide on them.
- To run the scholarship: follow up on admissions, pay fees and follow academic progress.
- To contact you by email about your application or your scholarship.
- To keep our own records of the scholarships we give.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
- The foundation's staff who handle scholarships.
- You: a scholarship student sees their own file in their account, and nobody else's.
- The companies that provide our services, only to provide them: our website hosting, and Google Workspace, which delivers our emails.
We share information outside the foundation only when it is needed for your scholarship or when the law requires it.
How we protect it
- The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
- The documents you upload are kept in private storage. They cannot be opened from a link: only signed-in staff, and the student who uploaded them, can open them.
- Passwords are stored in a form that cannot be read back, by us or anyone else.
- Staff sign in with their own accounts, and changes to students' information are recorded.
How long we keep it
An application that was started and not submitted is deleted, with its documents, seven days after applications close.
Submitted applications and scholarship records are kept for as long as the foundation needs them for its scholarships and its records.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Scholarship students can also ask for a correction from their own account.
If you signed in with Google, you can unlink your Google account at any time on "My profile", or remove the foundation's access from your Google account settings.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with its date.
